Poem - Nature Walk 1st April 2025

As I get out of the car  I see a magpie above me on a branch  Another sweet friend  I've made again  The park is before us  A path leading into a small forest of tall trees  While down the road in the distance  The mountains can be seen  And the great forest surrounding the pine River  We start our walk  Stepping around a fallen old tree  Since the cyclone  Likes of this we often see  Walking along  We feel so small compared to the trees  And I hear birds  Butcher birds and other birds  Singing in their nature home  With their friends they know they're not alone  The colours of nature  Green and Brown  Surround us now  There's so many different types of trees here  We walk eventually slowly uphill  And through trees and trees  Suddenly I spot  High up in a grand eucalyptus tree  A koala, huddled up sleeping in the tree fork  So excited we take photo...

Poem - Samford

As you drive along Eaton's Crossing road  Towards Samford  Beautiful views open up to you  Of the mountains  And soon enough  You see a small township on flat grounds to the left  Between the mountains  Of a number of rural homes  Eventually you turn left  Onto Mount Samson Road  And pass by more beautiful views  Of a landscape surrounded by mountains  The landscape is so green  You pass the sports fields  Then some huge farm paddocks with lazy contented cows  Then some quaint little country houses  And the quaint little old church  Arriving to the township now  Over the crossing over the creek  And now there's lazy shops around  And restaurants  But you can still see the mountains in the distance from the township There's a lovely pub on the right that plays live music  And a few unique gift shops dotted around  Past the town central park surrounded by gardens and tall tre...

Poem - My Uncles Farm

Down the South of the country Past cities,  many towns  And endless grass and eucalyptus trees  Lived my Uncle on his farm  Such a long drive from a little sleepy country town  Past so many huge trees by the road  Past many other farms and paddocks  Nestled in a secret nook no-one would ever find  In its own little world  Appeared,  a little farm cottage house Amongst a healthy bright green garden  And out in the distance,  vast lush green hilly paddocks  You immediately see a small lake down behind the cottage and down behind a few fruit trees  "Ruff ruff!" You meet Woody my uncles large golden beige farm dog.  He is young and loves his free adventurous life on the farm!   Inside the cottage feels like a cozy cabin.  You feel it has history as it has some age to it.  The kitchen and dining area is to the left overlooking the back garden and small lake and living area is to the right with a he...
