Short Story - Walk to the park pond
Milly and her friend Summer thought that it would be a good day to walk to the park pond a few streets away. The sun was shining and the sky was blue and there were all these lovely white fluffy clouds in the sky. They started walking past all the charming houses and their lovely gardens and slowly up and down the hills in their area. They walked to a busy road then across the road when all was quiet to the park where the big pond was. There was so many tall trees at the park and gardens with lots of hedges and neat bushes surrounding the big pond. There was a little grass pathway around the pond. They walked through all the tall trees then Started walking along the little grass pathway around the pond. There was so many lillypads and waterlillies in the pond floating on the water which looked dark blue but also greenish from the reflections from all the tall trees. Around a little bend in the path they saw a little group of ducks napping on the edge of the pond. They were so quiet and sleepy but Milly and Super could tell they loved living here at their home at the park pond. Milly and Summer kept walking along the little grass path next to the pond and sometimes saw bushes with lovely flowers right next to the path. Walking below the tall trees they loved seeing the different cloud shapes in the fluffy white clouds. Around another bend they came to a little creek flowing into the pond with some stepping stones over the creek which they loved stepping over while hearing the water of the creek flowing between rocks. They kept walking along the grass path and then saw a turtle in the pond swimming around and eating some plants growing in the pond. Milly and summer reached the corner of the pond and walking down the other side came to another little creek going into the pond with wood beams across the creek that they could walk across. They had one last look at the big park pond and loved seeing the sun shining on the water creating hundreds of sparkles on the water. It was time to go home but they thought maybe next time they could bring a picnic to have on one of the picnic tables in the park by the pond.
