Story - Lacey The Fairy

I love exploring and it was a beautiful day so I decided to go for a drive with my friend Laura to Lacey's Creek, near Dayboro, a spot I'd never been before. We set off, on the long drive to Dayboro through the countryside past many tall eucalyptus trees and hills covered in forest. We played forest music in the car, enchanting music that reminded me of the mountains and countryside. We went through Dayboro, the charming little country town then turned right at the pub and kept driving past more charming country houses and beautiful countryside and mountain views. Eventually we turned left at Lacey's Creek Road. This was it, the unexplored area I'd found on my phone's maps. We were so delighted at what we saw. The landscape was of many farms of rolling grassy hills with forest in the distance. We saw many cows grazing in the fields. I loved how exploring new places was like the world opening up to me, revealing how impossibly big the world is. Eventually we came to an especially beautiful view of vast hilly fields and big hills in the distance with a farmhouse. "Let's stop and take pictures" I said to Laura. As we stopped by the side of the road I saw a big patch of beautiful purple wildflowers by the side of the road. I took a picture of them then the beautiful view. All of a sudden I thought I saw a yellow butterfly fly in front of me. "Hi I'm Lacey the fairy" I heard a light female voice from the fairy. What? It couldn't be? "Oh my gosh!" Cried Laura. It wasn't a butterfly, it was a little fairy. "Come see my friends Mr and Mrs Clover at the farmhouse! We are really friendly here! Laura looked at me and we decided to follow the fairy. We climbed the fence and walked along the soft grass in the sunlight over the hilly ground towards the big hill where the farmhouse was. When we got closer we saw a friendly lady in a patchwork dress waving to us. "Hi I'm Mrs Clover"
"We're Addy and Laura. We were just driving here to explore here today."

Mrs Clover ushured us into a cozy farmhouse with old paintings on the wall and crocheted rugs on the couches and the smell of warm cookies and tea in the house.
The little yellow fairy had followed us and was still with us in the house.
Maybe some places were just enchanted.

"Well here at Lacey's Creek the creek was named after Lacey the fairy" said Mrs Clover
"let me tell you a story"
"10 years ago a young neighbour came running to my house and said her friend was growing wings and being turned into a fairy by one of the little fairies. We want to stay humans and not be turned into fairies. "
The little fairies said they would stop if they were given wildflowers and fresh cookies once a month.
So now that's what we do. So there's a little story for you.
So there's your lesson, keep the fairies happy here or they will get up to their tricks. There's lots more stories here too, it's a magical place.
Me and Laura had definitely had a magical day and we'd be on the lookout for fairies, maybe they disguised themselves as butterflies and we'd be thinking of all the magical stories of this place. Would we catch the fairies bathing in the creek? Or sitting on leaves chatting to eachother? Maybe running around in the fields with the cows.
