Short Story - The Ring That Grants Little Wishes

It was another day, I just woke up, and felt my comfy bed underneath me and saw and felt the sunshine from a new day in my room. I got up to have breakfast, having my banana then a vegetable juice from the kitchen. It was such a pretty day, so I decided to go on a little walk around the back garden. I walked down the steps, then onto the soft grass. It was a pretty little garden with lawn surrounded by a garden bed along the fence bordered by rocks. The garden featured a number of small plants including hibiscus plants that flowered. There was also a big banana tree. And there was a little pond in the corner surrounded by plants. I walked along the edge of the garden bed, loving the feeling of sunshine and being connected to nature, feeling like a fairy. Suddenly I noticed something behind one of the plants. It was a treasure chest! How did that get here? It was a mystery. I decided to open the treasure chest. It was old wood but I got it to creak open. The edges were lined with gold and there was a keyhole but it was unlocked. I looked inside the treasure chest and thought there was nothing. But then I saw a sparkle in the corner of the treasure chest. It was an old gold ring. I grabbed it and found out that luckily it fit on my finger. I was so excited to show my mum and friends so I went upstairs back to my room. In my room, while looking at the pretty ring, I thought yes a ring is nice but I wish I could have found some pretty scented candles. Suddenly I heard a sparkling chime noise and something appeared in the middle of my room. It was a pretty brown striped gift bag! Inside I looked and found 5 tall candles in different pretty colours and found out they all had beautiful different scents! Rose, Frangipani, Jasmine, Lavender, and Ocean Spray. 

I placed the candles around my room and lit them with my lighter and thought all this would go nice with some beautiful music so put on some beautiful acoustic guitar music. 

I realised that the ring I was wearing was a magical wishing ring. I would wish for something and it would grant me my wish. "I wish for a new car!" I thought. But no new car appeared! That's when I realised the gold ring only granted little wishes. Ok. That was still really nice! 

What else could I wish for that I wanted? 

"I wish for some new clothes" I heard the sparkling chime noise then saw a pretty pink gift bag in the middle of my room. I opened the gift bag and found 3 beautiful new stylish dresses, 2 charming pretty hippy style dresses and some leggings designed to look like jeans and 2 stylish new tops to go with the leggings plus a charming pretty hippy style top. It was just what I wanted! I put the clothes away in my wardrobe and drawers, deciding that later I'll get rid of some old clothes to make room. 

I then put on one of the pretty hippy style dresses and admired it in my standing mirror in the corner of my room, and put on some perfume to match as well. I did a little dance, twirling around the room, cause I was so happy to have found my wishing ring. 

What else could I wish for? 

"I wish for some new art supplies" 

There was the sparkling chime sound and a big brown gift bag appeared in the middle of the room. 

I looked inside the gift bag and found 3 brand new sketch books in different sizes, a big pack of oil pastels in a variety of colours, paint pens, and 3 flat panel canvases in different sizes. It was just what I wanted. 

I thought of the different new art I wanted to make, a painting of candles on a pretty candle holder, and landscapes of beautiful scenic places around the area of where I live. And the paint pens to paint on rocks. 

Ok one more wish for today I thought. 

"I wish for two beautiful bunches of flowers, one for me and one for my housemates." 

There was the sparkling chime sound then 2 big brown gift bags appeared in the middle of the room. just what I wished for. I looked inside the gift bags and found 2 big bunches of white roses wrapped in light blue paper and tied with brown ribbon. They were such big roses and smelled so beautiful!! I arranged mine in a vase in my room then arranged the roses for my housemates in a vase in the kitchen. I knew they would be Soo happy and delighted. 

For the rest of the day my friend was going to take me out to a nature walk. 

I realised I could make some more little wishes tomorrow, and then keep making little wishes as long as I thought of little things I wanted. It was so exciting.
