Kookaburra visits Thursday 16 April 2026

A sweet friendly kookaburra visited me at my new home. Is this the same kookaburra that has visited before?

Animal Whispering Sunday 5 April 2026 - Butcher bird visits my pet cockatiels

I went and opened the curtains today and saw to my surprise, a butchet bird which I think was a young one, perched on the end of a perch sticking out of the cockatiels cage. So they were right up against the cockatiel cage. And they were just watching the cockatiels and maybe trying to make friends with them and I even saw them play with some of the cockatiels toys that were at the edge of the cage with their beak. They also sat there and preened themself. It was such a sweet and precious sight.

Animal Whispering Friday 27 March 2026 - Baby butcher birds tap on my window

Image
I was in my bedroom listening to music when I heard some tapping on my window! I peered out the blinds and saw 2 baby butcher birds on the window ledge! Looks like these little angels wanted to visit me or maybe even were telling me to open the blinds to "take care of me". So I followed their suggestion to open the blinds and have a view of the trees outside as they recommended. What sweet little angels.

Animal Whispering Monday 16 March 2026 - Butcher birds take me outside

Image
I was in the lounge room when a baby butcher bird landed on the window ledge outside. The curtain was mostly closed but he was trying to peer in underneath. My message from him was that he was telling me to open the blind which I did. I felt like the baby butcher bird was trying to take care of me which he did by making me feel better with a view of the garden. A few minutes later his mum fiona flew onto the chair outside to visit me and say hello. And then awhile later the baby butcher bird came back onto the window ledge. Then flew onto the fence.  I felt like he was asking me to come outside. So I did. And lay down on the outdoor lounge. A minute later a butcher bird sang to me through the bushes. It sounded so loving. I feel so loved and taken care of by the butcher birds today!

Animal Whispering Thursday 29 January 2026 - Butcher bird family on holiday

On my holiday at the Gold Coast, a butcher bird must have spotted me through the window and flew onto the balcony. Soon enough a whole family of butcher birds came over including 3 young ones. I fed the butcher birds a little treat and noticed the baby butcher birds were very curious. So I held out my hand with treats for the babies and they kept coming close. Eventually one of them came up and pecked my finger gently! I thought it was so sweet how gentle he was.  Eventually the butcher birds flew off but a couple came back later including a baby which actually did some singing for me. And as I can whistle bird song, we sang along together. It was so beautiful and precious. What a sweet family, that I'll always love, even if I never see them again.

Animal Whispering Sunday 14 December 2025 - Butcher birds eat out of my hand

The butcher birds at my new home Franky and Fiona visited me today with their 2 or 3 babies. I got a treat for them and Fiona ate right out of my hand which was amazing. 🩷

Animal Whispering Thursday 4 December 2025 - Butcher birds at my new home

Well I moved house, and within the first few days of moving in, I made friends with a butcher bird that visited me! He flew onto the cockatiel cage and saw me and my mum through the window as I chatted to him. I called him Franky.  And today, I went for a walk around the neighbourhood and to the park down the street. A couple of butcher birds recognised me and flew around me and called to me. Franky, I believe, just sat on top of the water fountain as I sat nearby, just keeping me company for awhile.  The butcher birds also kept flying onto the park name sign.  The message I got from them was that they were communicating that this was their home and territory, and that they were very proud of their home and protective of their home and territory. Today I felt so much love between me and these new butcher birds.
